Türkiye’s Statistics Institute reported on Friday that Turkey’s inflation rate accelerated to an annual rate of 69.8% in April.
The highest consumer price increases compared with the same period last year were in education, which increased by 103.86%, and hotels, cafes and restaurants, which increased by 95.82%.
On a monthly basis, Turkish inflation rose by 3.18%, with growth driven by higher prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, as well as hotels, cafes and restaurants.
