On May 10, 2024, in Whitley Bay, England, people went to St. Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay to watch the Northern Lights, commonly known as the Northern Lights.

A rare solar storm lit up the evening sky on Friday, flooding much of the northern hemisphere with neon lights of magenta, green and blue.

Sky watchers gather to witness and take photos of the Northern Lights, which are usually only visible in high northern latitudes.This time, however, it goes all the way south Louisiana Supercharged by some intense solar bursts.

Thursday, NOAA The first severe geomagnetic storm warning since 2005 was issued as a warning for Friday’s skylight show.
