Minutes after Trump was found guilty in his New York hush money trial, the Biden campaign immediately lashed out at former President Trump and called for donations.
“Today in New York we see that no one is above the law,” Biden campaign spokesman Michael Taylor said in a statement Thursday evening. “There’s still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: the ballot box.”
Taylor added: “A second Trump term means chaos, stripping Americans of their freedoms and inciting political violence, and the American people will reject it this November.”

The campaign ramped up its fundraising efforts in a text message to voters asking for $20 donations: “If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to donate to Joe Biden’s re-election campaign, we’re here to tell you today that is the day. .
In contrast, Ian Sams, spokesman for the White House Counsel’s Office, was relatively tight-lipped, saying only that “we respect the rule of law and will have no further comment.”
On Thursday, a 12-person jury found Trump guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records in his hush-money trial in New York, making Trump the first former president to be convicted of a felony.
The Biden campaign’s response marked the focus of the president’s reelection campaign and broke weeks of silence from President Joe Biden as the hush-money trial ended and the possibility of innocence remained.

The campaign’s attacks added to a chorus of criticism of Democrats from lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
“Despite Donald Trump’s efforts to distract, delay and deny, justice has prevailed,” Rep. Adam Schiffa California Democrat, said in a post on X.
Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat who prosecuted the case, celebrated the victory with other members of his legal team at a news conference in Manhattan after the verdict.
“Today we heard the most important voice, and that was the voice of the jurors. They spoke. Donald J. Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records,” he said.
In response to a question about the possibility of Trump going to jail, Bragg pointed to Trump’s July 11 sentencing: “We will speak in court then.”
Trump, meanwhile, has denounced the trial as “rigged” and a “witch hunt,” which he falsely claimed was ordered by President Joe Biden.
