Eli Lilly and Company Finance Minister Anat Ashkenazi will become alphabetical Google’s parent company announced on Tuesday that its new chief financial officer will be effective July 31, nearly a year after Alphabet first announced that current chief financial officer Ruth Porat would be transferred to president and chief investment officer.
Ashkenazi has been with Eli Lilly for 23 years, and the company confirmed her departure in a separate release.
“We are pleased to have found such a strong CFO with a track record of long-term investments in strategic priorities to drive innovation and growth,” Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in a press release.
Ashkenazi joined Eli Lilly and Company in 2001 and has served as chief financial officer since 2021.
She previously served as chief financial officer across several of the company’s global businesses, helping manage windfall revenue from Eli Lilly’s weight loss and diabetes drugs.
Porat spent nearly three years as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley, eventually serving as chief financial officer, before joining Google in 2015.
