OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, who left the AI ​​startup last month, introduced his new AI company, which he calls Secure Super Intelligence (SSI).

Sutskever is OpenAI’s chief scientist and co-leads the company’s Superalignment team with Jan Leike, who also left in May to join rival artificial intelligence company Anthropic.

OpenAI’s Superalignment team, which focused on guiding and controlling artificial intelligence systems, disbanded shortly after Sutskever and Leike announced their departures.

Sutskever will continue to focus on security issues at his new startup.

“SSI is our mission, our name and our entire product roadmap because it is our sole focus,” an SSI account posted on X. are distracted by cycles, and our business model means safety, security and progress are independent of short-term commercial pressures.

Sutskever founded the company with Daniel Gross, who oversees appleof artificial intelligence and search work, and Daniel Levy, formerly of OpenAI. The company has offices in Palo Alto, California, and Tel Aviv, Israel.

Sutskever, a member of OpenAI’s board of directors, attempted to oust co-founder and CEO Sam Altman in November. Altman clashed with Sutskever and other directors over the guardrails OpenAI has put in place in its pursuit of advanced artificial intelligence.
