Ryan Salame, a former top lieutenant under FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, asked a judge to void his agreement with the government and his Plea guilty.

in a Wednesday’s filingSalameh’s lawyers are asking for his conviction to be quashed, claiming the government breached key parts of the agreement by not investigating his partner, Michel Bond.

“The government used plea negotiations to threaten Salam’s domestic partner and the mother of his child,” the motion states.

“In an effort to get Salame to plead guilty, government lawyers said they would stop investigating Bond if Salame pleaded guilty. Given Salame’s apparent desire to protect Bond, Salame responded by agreeing to sign a plea agreement,” his the lawyer wrote.

According to the documents, the government has reopened its investigation into Bond.

In X’s post“This is all true, but I just filed a court document and I’m extremely nervous about it because I know it means the most powerful institution in the world will once again attack me and my company,” Salaam wrote. Love people, but I hope it encourages more people to be honest, tell the truth, and expose un-American behavior.”

In May, the former FTX executive was sentenced to 90 months, or seven and a half years, in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Salami is also available ordered to pay More than $6 million was confiscated and more than $5 million was returned.

Salaam pleaded guilty to the charges, but notably was not a cooperating witness for the government. Salaam did, however, testify at the criminal trial of his former boss, Sam Bankman-Fried.

Salam was to surrender in October.
