The New York Attorney General’s office said in a court filing on Wednesday that Donald Trump should pledge his real estate to the court if he is “truly unable” to obtain an appeal bond in his $464 million business fraud case.

Instead, the attorney general’s office told a New York appeals court that Trump claimed it was “impossible” for him to be granted bail without providing any conclusive evidence.

“The defendants did not provide any written evidence to potential insurance companies to prove exactly what real property they offered,” the attorney general’s office wrote.

They also did not report “on what terms the properties were offered, or precisely why” the bond insurers were “reluctant to accept the assets.”

The office made the argument as it asked the court to reject Trump’s request to prevent his massive fraud conviction from expiring.
