Tokyo’s Sézanne has been named to the “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024” list.

This two-Michelin-starred neoclassical French restaurant located on the seventh floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo in Marunouchi jumped from second place on the 2023 list to first place.

Japan has nine restaurants on this year’s list, as does the small city-state of Singapore.

Only China – an area more than 13,000 times the size of Singapore – has the most, with 11 restaurants on the list: six in Hong Kong, four in Shanghai and one in Macau.

Odette, which has been in the top 10 since 2017, remains Singapore’s highest-ranked restaurant (No. 10), followed by contemporary Australian grill restaurant Burnt Ends (No. 15).

Judges are divided into six regions – Indian subcontinent; Southeast Asia (South); Southeast Asia (North); Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau; Mainland China and South Korea; and Japan – in order to “represent Asian restaurants as fairly as possible,” according to the organization Scenes” voting method.
