Former President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee announced Monday that the two entities have jointly raised funds $141 million in May.

The huge sum would represent a major shift in Trump’s fortunes after his campaign has struggled to keep up with President Joe Biden’s fundraising for parts of the election. Trump and the Republican National Committee have said they raised just over $76 million in April, and Biden’s political operation announced it raised about $51 million that month.

Trump was found guilty Thursday of 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up hush-money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. The Trump campaign said it raised $34.8 million in less than seven hours after the New York jury announced its verdict.

The Trump team also stated that they raised a total of $52.8 million Within 24 hours after the trial ends. The Trump campaign said that accounted for a little more than 37% of their revenue in May. Most of the Republican Party’s largest donors dismissed the guilty verdict and backed Trump.

Venture capitalist and long-time Republican donor Doug Leone declare He will also endorse Trump on Monday, even though he rebuke After the Capitol riots on January 6, 2021, he.

“I am increasingly concerned about the overall direction of our country, our broken immigration system, our ballooning deficit, and our foreign policy missteps. That is why I am endorsing former President Trump in the upcoming election,” Leone on X said one post.

Since the conclusion of Trump’s trial, the former president has continued to deny the charges against him and used the verdict to try to raise more campaign funds.

His team pointed to the trial as a fundraising boom and said donors want Trump’s policies restored.

“President Trump raised $141 million this month (May) as Americans remember the strong economy, secure borders, and peace achieved through strength at home and abroad under Donald J. Trump, and when he is re-elected, we Prosperity and success will return.

If the Trump campaign’s numbers are accurate, it also shows the former president may be catching Biden in the fundraising game.

Biden has not released May fundraising totals, and the claim that Trump’s team raised $141 million cannot be verified because the latest campaign finance records won’t be released until later in June.

Trump’s campaign has raised $120 million so far in the 2024 election cycle, while Biden’s campaign has raised $195 million, OpenSecrets data shows.
