apple On Monday, Apple announced the launch of Apple Intelligence, finally diving into the field of artificial intelligence. But to run it on your iPhone, you may need to upgrade.

Apple website Apple Intelligence said the company’s view on generative artificial intelligence is supported on devices running M1 chips, such as the iPad Air, iPad Pro and Mac. This covers most products that are several years old. However, it only supports the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro, not the regular iPhone 15.

This may help Apple promote new iPhone upgrades this fall.

The company reported second-quarter iPhone revenue of $45.96 billion, down nearly 10% from the same period last year. The results suggest weak demand for the current iPhone, which was released in September.

Apple Intelligence will let you do a variety of things when it launches in beta this fall. It can proofread your writing and even rewrite it in a friendly or professional tone. It can create a custom emoji called a “Genmoji,” search your iPhone for someone’s specific message, summarize and transcribe phone calls, or show you priority notifications. It can even leverage OpenAI’s ChatGPT to give you more detailed answers via Siri.
